So I have a job now. Amazing, eh? Only took me 22 years ... *cough*.

Anyway, I'm full-time days at the Tim Horton's down the street, which is win cause it's like a 5 minute drive or a relatively short walk on a nice day. Although driving means I can sleep in so the Honda wins, as always.

Yesterday was my first day of training, and involved me doing absolutely nothing more than sitting in the break room in front of their computer and watching disc after disc of training CDs. FOR FIVE HOURS. And I was only scheduled to work four. Oops. Today was five hours of learning the cash register which was exciting. God bless the "double/double" button. I'm in tomorrow too, and I think I'm being scheduled for an extra shift on Saturday. Monehmonehmoneh.
Now I think I need a shower cause I reek of delicious coffee.

Sweet Raptor Jesus in the Jurassic, I'm bad at updating this thing. I'm sure you care.

I am still contentedly coexisting with my mother and Philip and our combined four cats and one gecko in Ottawa. Our plans to pick up and freak everyone out by moving to BC have been postponed, as there's some drama with Phip's family out there that we aren't about to walk into the middle of. SO, good news, we'll be around for Susan's birthday (which is good, I wasn't looking forward to her killing me for missing it) and for the wedding! I was so annoyed that we were going to miss it, and not missing it makes life much better.

Issy the kitten (full name: Issy bo Bissy fo Fissy) is well, and gimpy-eyed. I am still in love with everything Firefly and currently, the show Robot Chicken (available on YouTube, go watch now).

Tomorrow is the start of The Big Job Hunt since we aren't actually going to be leaving for a while. Wish me luck. Phip is taking me out for lunch to that sushi place Susan wishes she could go more often but she's off in lah-dee-dah fancy pants England so we're going without her. Hmph.

Forgot to update for a while there.

So.

I am all gradumuated! s-m-r-t. For the rest of my life it will be a bittersweet memory because my grandmother, who travelled from Southern Ontario to be there for Convocation, had a heart attack in Amherst on the Friday before the ceremony, and passed away that night. My uncle was with her at the time, and everyone's been reassuring me that she died doing something she loved (aka travelling and seeing me) but ... talk about cold comfort. The whole time we were there, people kept saying "Oh yeah, and congratulations on graduating!" and I wanted to throw up a little.

So on Tuesday we packed up from Sackville and headed home. 15 hours of straight driving and didn't get in til 4 in the morning on Wednesday. Bleh is all I have to say about that. Then we packed up Thursday morning for the 6-hour drive to Grandma's hometown for the funeral which was on Friday. Philip got to meet my dad for the first time (we bought him a suit for the funeral, he was freakin' adorable) which was full of awkward, but it was okay. The funeral itself was nice, that woman was nothing but love to the whole world and it was obvious that the whole world in return was full of love for her. It was a beautiful day. I got to be a pall-bearer, which was a bit unsettling.

And yesterday we came home! I would say I'm utterly sick of driving except that it's *me* so ... I'm not. But a break is nice. We're going to try to get Phip his learner's permit while he's here, cause it's a lot cheaper than it would have been in Nova Scotia.

We went and bought a wireless router, too, so we could set up our computers in the basement, then we picked up kitten-face so she is back with moi. I missed her gimpy-eyed stare. She missed my computer chair most of all, go figure.

Gah ... too much stuff going on right now to coherently list and/or organize mentally.

All my classes this term want papers, some short and on obscure topics, others very long and on topics which will require me having to conduct multiple interviews with strange men (aka drunk fishermen in a bar ... *shudder*). I have a presentation in my seminar tomorrow night that I am in no way prepared for, unless she wants a hastily slapped-together 5 minute article barf. After that (but no less worrisome) is convention stress, and finally stress of the "what am I doing with my life?" variety. Because really ... what am I doing with my life? Gah.

Day 27364272. <strike>No aquasaurs yet.</strike> <strike>Not 70 yet.</strike> STILL IN SCHOOL.

Here you go.

I just downloaded and read through the staff schedule for the Con, and I'm set up to work for eleven straight hours on Saturday. All by myself. Huh. Gonna bring that up tonight and see if it was overlooked or if I'm expected to die for my video-gaming sins >.> Oh oh and speaking of the Con, Suze said you might not be able to come up? Kiiiiim. Kiiiiiiiiim! You have to come ;_; It won't be a Con without Kimothy. Don't make me come to Bermuda and maybe hang around for a couple of weeks in the sun before I remember that I was supposed to bring you to the Con but by then it's far too late so I just stay in Bermuda for a while longer. That wouldn't go over well.

Hmm ... what else is new? You know Phip's living here now, right? Oh yeah, of course you do, you helped me pass out his resumes. Durr. He's working backshift at Timmy's currently (backshift = 11pm - 7am) so he's taken to stomping into my room at 7:45, freezing cold, and jumping on the bed to wake me up. Boys suck.

Ooh if you want a new game for your GameCube, I might actually suggest Animal Crossing. It's really really weird, but it's kinda addictive. (In case you don't know) You play a little person who's just moved into a town full of animals and you get to name yourself (Suze and I are "Futbuker"), the town ("Asrantch"), you get your own little house to decorate, you have to work of your debt for the house by doing errands for the racoon who owns the only store in town, and partake of general shenanigans. It's weird because it works off the GC's internal clock and gameplay reflects the time of year/time of day. I got pissed last night cause I sat down to play around midnight and all the friggin animals had gone to bed. Screw that. (But when they're sleeping outside for some freaky reason, you can push them out of the way and let yourself into their house to check out their home decor. That's pretty sweet).

Know what isn't sweet? I HAVE NO AQUASAURS. Friggin' things never hatched. I am very annoyed. So I guess sometime I'll get over my feelings of betrayal and heat up the tank to a good temp. again, dump in more eggs, and hope for the best.

Aaaand now I guess I have to deal with my weekend, which is looking like it will be hella busy with stuff for me to do. I have an assignment to write asap, a presentation on Tuesday, and an upcoming field trip back to Grand Manan to talk to fishermen. Eek. And lots of terrible things due the week after that that I really need to get started on now.

Phippy's being a good boyfriend and playing through all of Resident Evil: Code Veronica for me so I can watch the story. When that's done, we're going to do numbers 3 and 1 as well. Ahaha, I play RE for the story. So weird. Well, and Leon is my pretend shmoopie. He's in number 2!! Go buy number 2.

<3

So. Long time no update.

What is new?

Oh yeah. LAST TERM EVER AT MOUNT A! ( !!!!!!!! )

My schedule is great this term, or so I like to think. My earliest class all week is at 11:30, so I don't have to pretend I'm a morning person.

Phippy is also living with me now, he got a job at Tim Horton's, so there is practically never a need for me to take the dreaded bus trip back to New Glasgow. Muahaha.

I am getting my butt in gear sorting out video game lists/tournaments for the convention at the end of next month.

Aaaaand ... thassit. Nothing else interesting, I think. Ooh, I got Aquasaurs for Christmas, so I'll keep you biology-minded folks updated on their happy little progress once I actually get around to trying to hatch some.
Woohoo! No plague for me!

When last Norwalk and I met, I pwned it good and hard. In retaliation, it ... made me throw up for 3 days. Let's end that flashback right there.

When they cancelled midterms on Monday and Tuesday I was thrilled because of course, my midterm's on Wednesday. But my only class today was called off for no reason (wooooh) and the assignment I had due tomorrow has been bumped to the end of the week. So I win, regardless. My midterm is biogeography so it shouldn't be hard anyway.

Thursday we went to see a movie called An Inconvenient Truth, about the effects of global warming and the general suckiness of the American political institution, as presented by Al Gore. For the record, that man is full of awesome. I'm still hoping to go see TPB in theatres, but I might not be able to =(

Today I went for a field trip with a class I'm not even in to a waste management/sanitation plant just outside Moncton. I came away with the lesson that it smells awful, but they do good work. There are big seagulls there. Oh! And a bald eagle. Reduce, re-use, recycle!

Honestly, I am only still writing because I'm fascinated that MtA has its own wikipedia entry. We are really not that interesting.

Ahhh I have been busy. I'm sorry, Livejournal, we can't be friends anymore. I am too busy for j00.

Friday was my crazy 5-hour field trip for biogeography, in which I determined that there is far too much underbrush in the forest. Too many scratches and pine needles in the wrong places. It was pretty though. Canoeing is much easier when you're not in the middle.

I took the bus to New Glasgow Saturday morning and hung around there for Thanksgiving, which was nice. I'm disappointed that I couldn't go home but visiting Phip was just as good, and my Mum's going to come down here sometime next month to sort of make up for it. We didn't really have much in the way of Thanksgiving dinner, since Phip was sick and thus un-hungry, so it was sort of a rush-job on Sunday night. Mashed potatoes and stuffing saved the day, though, since Dusty (the cat) ate some of the turkey from the counter. He is a sneaky one.

I got my term-paper proposal and midterm back on Tuesday. Both were 'A's :D. Apparently my Geog. of Japan prof has been waiting for someone to do my topic for years, and he's "delighted" that I've chosen to do so. That should be a full letter grade right there 8)

Next week isn't too busy ... I have a biogeography midterm and some sort of essay to write for Philosophy. Pah, I'll think about that on the weekend. Time to sleep now.

So I found out my exam schedule last night. I have four, on the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th. Fancy that. The first 3 are at 9am, the first 2 are the only 3-hour ones, and the last one is the only one being written in the Gym. All-around, very weird. Oh well, at least it means I'll be done retarded early ... D:

My Mum rescheduled me a doctor's appointment for December post-exams, so I'm thinking I'll stick around for a couple of days to hang out with the Kimmy and then go to NG for another couple of days before I fly back home.

In other news, I have a midterm today and a term paper proposal due. I finally chose my topic for the paper - Food Culture in Japan. It's tentatively titled "Not Just Raw Fish." I haven't studied for my midterm at all, so I'm going to do that now, and then in Philosophy, and then when I get back from class. In the middle somewhere I'm going to go to the library and try to find a couple more books for my term paper proposal, since I only have 3 in the annotated bibliography (and no websites, can you imagine?)

I had to phone my mum last night and tell her that I can't go home for Thanksgiving. $700 worth of plane fare just isn't in the books for this little student. She and I are both really disappointed (haven't been home since July D: ) but she's gonna come visit sometime in November instead. That will be nice.

School's going well, I think my presentation last week was fine. October's my busiest-looking month yet, starting with a term paper proposal and a midterm both on Tuesday. Speaking of which, I still haven't decided on a term paper topic. Aha.

Watched Death Trance with Sue and Kim last night, awesome movie. We went to Kim's to check out our Sims, too, since she has Sims Uni. edition and she made our house from last year. omgwtfbbq, it's so great. I snaffled her Sims 2 discs so I'll probly get back to playing that sometime soon rather than working on either of the aforementioned Tuesday-things. Hehehe.
